Testimony of Andrew P. Cohen, 10/4/1995

Below is a testimony given by Andrew P. Cohen on October 4th, 1995, two years after the incident.

OFFICER WILLIAMS: We are now going to ask you questions about what happened on the evening of November 26th, 1993.
ANDREW: Lay it on me.

W: Do you recall what vehicle you were operating?
A: It was a blue Toyota Corolla E90.

W: How many people were in the vehicle with you?
A: Four.

W: What were their names?
A: Clement Loyd, Gloria, Leo Cunningham, and Flynn.

W: You didn’t mention Gloria and Flynn’s last names? Why is that?
A: I couldn’t remember them.

W: Was anyone in the vehicle, including you, intoxicated or under the influence?
A: No, not from what I remember.

W: Where were you driving from?
A: Philadelphia.

W: Why were you in Philadelphia?
A: We were attending a concert.

W: Where did you stop your vehicle?
A: On a dirt path somewhere near Clinton Road, but it wasn’t exactly on Clinton Road.

W: What was the first thing you noticed when you stopped operating the vehicle?
A: Well, the headlights immediately shut off before I could even take the key out of ignition.

W: What was the approximate time this occurred?
A: God, I can barely remember. I’d say it was around 1:30 in the morning.

W: Who was the first individual to disperse from the original group?
A: It was definitely Leo. He would always try to get ahead of us.

W: When Leo entered the abandoned building first, who went in to stop him?
A: It was Clem. I followed him in, and so did Flynn.

W: Where did Leo go in the building?
A: Straight to the basement.

W: Did Flynn go in there as well?
A: Most likely, yeah. He probably did.

W: What happened after Flynn went into the basement?
A: There were these absolutely blood-curdling screams and shrieking. And then, there was this awful smell of blood and rotting flesh.

W: Did anyone do anything?
A: Clem and I tried to, but we couldn’t. It was like we were frozen in place, glued to the floor. We could barely move or talk. We just had to listen to the disturbing noises coming from the basement.

W: Did Gloria interfere with any of this?
A: No, not from what I remember. I think she was outside yelling at us to get out of the house.

W: Could you and Clem hear her?
A: No. We were so tuned in on the noises of the basement that we could barely hear Gloria yelling our names over and over.

W: What was the last thing you remember seeing or hearing?
A: I remember seeing this image of myself hanging from a noose getting more and more graphic, seeing my rotting flesh. And then, I remember there was this great big flash of light that blinded me.

W: Where did you end up after this?
A: I think I ended up in the hospital.
